The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is taking a unique initiative to make the Maha Kumbh, which is going to be held in January next year, clean and environment friendly. To make Maha Kumbh plastic free, shops are being allotted to Dona Pattal vendors. Additional Mela Officer (Kumbh) Vivek Chaturvedi said that efforts are being made to provide a clean and plastic free environment to the devotees coming to Maha Kumbh, for which shops are being allotted to various Dona-Pattal vendors and the process of allotment will be completed soon. Additional Fair Officer said that a special meeting on cleanliness has been organized with the principals of 400 schools and work is being done to increase awareness of plastic-free Mahakumbh by making students messengers of cleanliness.

More than 1500 Ganga Sevadoots will be deployed

Vivek Chaturvedi said that more than 1500 Ganga Sevadoots are being deployed, who will run cleanliness campaigns in the fair and motivate the devotees to avoid the use of plastic. According to him, their training has started and there is a plan to increase their number as per the requirement. He said that 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign is being run to spread awareness about plastic-free Mahakumbh, so that every person can participate in this initiative.

Plastic bags will not be found in any shop

Chaturvedi said that along with this, the message of plastic free Mahakumbh is being given in all the facility slips so that the devotees remain aware and do not use plastic. Additional Fair Officer said that strict instructions have been given to all the institutions and vendors deployed in Maha Kumbh to follow the rules of plastic free Kumbh and they have been warned of action against them if they violate the instructions. In such a situation, it is clear that plastic bags will not be available in any shop during the Kumbh Mela.

AIIMS and Army doctors will provide treatment during Maha Kumbh

There will also be eight small hospitals

Gaurav Dubey said that along with this, eight small hospitals of 20 beds each with special facilities are also being prepared. Two ICUs of 10 beds each are being built by 'Army Hospital' in Mela area and Arail, where all kinds of facilities will be provided to the devotees. At the same time, AIIMS Rae Bareli will create a 10-bed ICU in the 25-bed hospital of Jhunsi, where 24-hour health care facilities will be available to the patients. He said that apart from this, two hospitals have also been arranged for the prevention of infectious diseases, where specialist doctors will be deployed.
