Patna: Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Thursday expressed hope that the Election Commission will rule in his favor on his petition claiming the election symbol of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) formed by his late father Ram Vilas Paswan. After the split in the Lok Janshakti Party due to the rebellious attitude of Chirag's uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras, the Union Minister's faction was recognized as Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). Chirag today claimed that he will get the name of LJP and its election symbol Bangla very soon. Referring to Pashupati Paras, Chirag said, he was elder in the family but the way he separated him from the family. Now perhaps it is not possible that they can ever be united.

'Old memories are associated with the building'

Chirag was talking to journalists on the occasion of the 25th foundation day of his old party Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). He said, “We are happy that the Bihar government has allotted the same building to my party from where my father used to work. That is why we decided to abandon the earlier plan of celebrating this day at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Now we will organize a rally there before next year's Bihar Assembly elections. Paswan said, “It is very important for us to organize the function in the premises which was the office of LJP for years. However, we realize that this cannot be a permanent arrangement. 'I don't think uncle has left any scope for reconciliation'

The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president said his party's victory in Jharkhand's Chatra assembly seat is “a step towards fulfilling my father's dream.” LJP was established in the year 2000. The Union Minister said, “I have to admit that at one time I also wanted my father to become the Prime Minister. But I have always focused on the grassroots level. That is why I have always been steadfast in my loyalty to Narendra Modi, whom I would like to support for the fourth consecutive time in 2029.”
