Washington: Donald Trump supporter and prominent Pakistani-American industrialist Sajid Tarar has said that the newly elected US President has no personal relationship with former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Sajid Tarar, head of 'Muslims for Trump' organization, also said that Trump will strengthen relations with India and will keep a close watch on allegations of human rights violations in Bangladesh.

Imran Khan is in jail

“The impression is being created by a particular party in Pakistan that he (Khan) has personal relations with Donald Trump,” Tarar said in an interview with PTI. This is not true. The truth is that during his tenure as President, Trump had invited Khan to the 'White House' (the official residence and office of the US President) on the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He said that Trump had got Khan out of jail. Will not interfere in the internal affairs of Pakistan or its judiciary. Khan was arrested last year after being convicted in a corruption case, since then he has been in jail in various cases.

Trump is aware of the developments in Bangladesh

Tarar also said that Trump is aware of the developments in South Asia including Bangladesh. He said that Trump knows that when he was contesting for the presidency in 2016, Mohammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, had openly supported Hillary Clinton against him. He said that during his recent visit to America, Yunus had met (US) President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton. A few days before the US elections on November 5, Trump issued a statement condemning “human rights violations” against Hindus in Bangladesh. (Language)
