Ottawa: Canadian Police has arrested a 35-year-old local man in connection with the attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada. The officers provided this information. Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Strategic Investigation Team (SIT) have arrested Inderjit Gosal, of Brampton, and charged him with assault with a weapon, a Peel police statement said. 'Here the security of the Canadian High Commission in Delhi has been increased.

The arrested accused is the coordinator of SFJ

According to the news of 'Toronto Star', Gosal is the coordinator of 'Sikh for Justice (SFJ)' in Canada. SFJ is banned in India. The statement said Gosal was arrested on November 8. He is accused of assault with a weapon. Gosal has been released conditionally and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date. The SIT has been formed to investigate the criminal incidents that took place during the incidents of November 3 and 4. On November 3, protesters carrying Khalistani flags clashed with people and disrupted a program jointly organized by the temple authorities and the Indian Consulate.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned Sunday's incident and said every Canadian has the right to practice their religion freely and safely. The Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that New Delhi is extremely concerned about the safety of Indian citizens in Canada. (Language)
