India-China Border Disengagement: Local military commanders of India and China will meet today (on Thursday) in Depsang and Demchok on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh. (Friday) Patrolling will start at both the places from tomorrow, this will be discussed in the meeting today. Disengagement and verification was completed at Depsang yesterday but due to bad weather, aerial verification could not be done at Demchok. Aerial verification will be done today at Demchok.
Disengagement in Depsang and Demchok
According to the agreement between India and China, disengagement and verification in Depsang and Demchok was to be completed by 29 October. By Tuesday evening, tents and temporary structures were removed from both the places. The place where vehicles and soldiers had to be moved back has also been completed. Disengagement and verification were going on simultaneously. Aerial verification through UAV was completed in Depsang on Tuesday.

The situation before April 2020 will be restored
In such a situation, patrolling will start from Thursday i.e. 31st October. During this period, there will be no joint patrolling of soldiers, that is, soldiers of both the countries will not patrol together. With a short time gap, soldiers of both the countries can go on patrol on the same day. There will be talks regarding this also when the local military commanders of Indian and Chinese armies will meet today. Now soldiers of both the countries will be able to patrol at all the places where they were patrolling before April 2020. With this, the situation before April 2020 will be restored in Depsang and Demchok.
