Akshay Kumar's 2009 film 'Chandni Chowk to China' failed at the box office as soon as it was released. Despite having two superstars in this film, the film could not save face at the box office. However, when this film was released on TV, its fortunes changed. This superflop film at the box office became included in the top-5 most watched films. People gave a lot of love to the film on TV. But after the flop of this film, the producer of this film packed his bags and left the country. All these stories have been narrated by the film's director Nikhil Advani himself.

The producer left the country

The film's director Nikhil Advani told in Cyrus Bharuch's podcast that 'Chandni Chowk to China had proved to be a disaster film. The first part of the film is okay but the second is not that good. But the film is one of the most watched films in the world of TV. One reason for this is that children have liked this film a lot. In the same month as my film, Aamir Khan's Ghajini and Shahrukh Khan's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi were released. The film got crushed between these two films. Hollywood producer Warner Bros also left the country after this film. Nikhil told, 'Hollywood's Warner Bros had invested money in the film. He wanted to establish his work in Bollywood. But after the flop of this film, he left Bollywood and returned to America. Another producer of the film was planning to buy a Mercedes before its release. But when this film flopped, I had to buy Honda City.

The film flopped at the box office but was a hit on TV.

This film starring Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone was released on 16 January 2009. According to Box Office India, this film, made at a cost of Rs 62 crore, flopped badly. The film had earned only Rs 29 crore in the first week. The film was able to earn only Rs 40 crore in India. The worldwide earning of the film had reached Rs 56 crore. After being a superflop at the box office, this film was well received when it premiered on TV. The film was loved by children and became one of the most watched films on TV.
